Rana Industrial Terminal (RIT) chooses Grieg Connect’s Terminal Operating System (TOS) as part of a significant uptick in activity.
RIT is located in Mo i Rana, the third-largest city in Northern Norway and an important regional industrial centre thanks to its plentiful supply of hydroelectricity and raw materials. The terminal is owned by Mo Industripark AS.
One of the terminal’s largest clients is Elkem Rana ferrosilicon plant, is located in the same complex. Integrated logistics specialist North Sea Container Line (NCL) is the main container shipping line connecting RIT with ports in Northern Europe.
Mo i Rana Port is a key intermodal logistics hub in the government’s latest National Transport Plan. Financing has been granted for major underwater dredging works. Next step is the construction of a new deep-water quay for large vessels. Strong industry growth stimulates further economic development in the region.
